Project Description Double Gable Home is a heritage extension and renovation in Kew, defined by two gabled volumes that form a clear relationship between living spaces, garden and pool terrace. The composition reads as connected pavilions, allowing the building to step back from boundaries and manage privacy through orientation. Deep eaves and timber-lined soffits establish a strong shadow line, while carefully proportioned glazing supports sheltered outdoor living and measured views to landscape.

Inside, the main living areas are set within a double-height gable that brings volume and overhead light to the centre of the plan. Natural skylights introduce soft daylight without relying on boundary windows, and large sliding doors open to the terrace in a controlled way. The interior palette remains restrained, anchored by marble stonework and detailed two pack joinery with aligned junctions and flush transitions that keep rooms calm and legible.

The double-height gable becomes the project’s centrepiece, holding structure, light and circulation as a single continuous room. Built by TCON in collaboration with Partridge Architect for architecture and interiors, delivery required tight coordination of standing seam roofing, skylight penetrations and large-format glazing, alongside precise junctions through eaves and soffit linings. External works, including paving, pool and spa and a tennis court, were integrated as part of the overall set-out to complete a coherent and durable setting.
