Sculpted Calm Behind the Facade

Defined by a considered interplay of light and shadow, Rosedale presents a bold street presence while remaining deliberately private. A composition of vertical black screening and a robust concrete base forms a layered façade that softens into the surrounding landscape, allowing the home to sit confidently within its leafy Glen Iris setting.

Inside, the palette shifts from graphic to tactile. Light-toned timber floors and softly finished plaster are punctuated by dark joinery and stone accents, creating warmth without compromising architectural clarity. A long, gallery-like corridor draws natural light deep into the plan, its restrained detailing reinforcing a calm and measured rhythm through the interior.

At the heart of the residence, a sculptural curved staircase becomes both landmark and connector. Carefully crafted in plaster, timber and stone, it elevates everyday movement into an architectural experience. From framed study moments formed in concrete to intimate living spaces anchored by stone and joinery, each transition feels deliberate and resolved. The result is a home that balances strength and softness in equal measure, a testament to precision, craftsmanship and enduring design.
