Trades and subcontractors working with TCON
TCON works with an established group of trades and specialist subcontractors across architectural homes, heritage renovations, basements, interiors and external works. New businesses are considered where a project requires additional capacity, specialist capability or a trade not already covered. The work demands more than completion of an isolated scope. Each trade needs to understand the current documents, program, inspection points and condition required by the work that follows. Clear questions are expected before fabrication or installation. Site conduct, safety, protection and neighbour consideration are part of the engagement. Businesses with relevant architectural experience can register their capability, service area, insurance and examples of comparable work. Recurring trades gain familiarity with TCON's documents, site expectations and approach to interface coordination. That familiarity supports consistent set-out, reporting and close-out across successive projects.
Site, safety and insurance requirements
Trades need current insurance and licences applicable to their work. TCON's stated requirement includes Public Liability Insurance of $20 million and current WorkCover arrangements, with certificates provided before site access. Every person completes the required site induction and works under the project safety controls and TCON Site Safety Management Plan. BuildPass is TCON's own system for inductions, site governance, safety and relevant records. It is not an independent safety auditor. Access, deliveries, parking, storage, waste, behaviour and protection of completed work are coordinated by the site manager. These requirements apply from early demolition and excavation through specialist finishing and final rectification.
Quality, information and program
Trade scopes are issued against the relevant documents, program and commercial terms. Subcontractors are expected to review their information, identify discrepancies and raise RFIs before the issue becomes a site instruction under pressure. Shop drawings, samples, templates and mock-ups are required where the package or design calls for them. Work is checked at project-specific inspection points, with rectification completed before dependent work proceeds where practicable. Trades receive look-ahead information and need to communicate labour, procurement or access constraints early. TCON values crews that understand the interface around their scope, leave the correct condition for the next trade and return to address an item when the record shows further work is required.
Quotations, claims and registration
Quotations need a clear scope, exclusions, assumptions, lead time and commercial basis so TCON can compare the work against the documents and other packages. Progress claims are assessed against completed milestones and the subcontract terms. TCON's standard payment position is 14-day terms from an approved invoice, subject to the relevant subcontract and complete supporting information. If only part of a claim is approved, the payable amount is documented and the balance can be resubmitted when the work is complete or the query is resolved.
